I discussed recently that I signed up for the Sacramento century in October, so it’s time to ramp up my mileage. At this time my group was doing a 27 mile journey within the hill East of Gilroy, beginning on the Mendoza Ranch entrance to Harvey Bear park, which they drove to. I made a decision to begin early and journey their as a substitute, in order that bumped my mileage as much as 50, which took 4 hours. This was much more climbing than I’ve been used to, however fortuitously I’ve and 11×42 cassette on my Sirrus bike now, which helps with the steep stuff. It felt nice, and I wasn’t too drained after.
I’m going to be doing the century on my recumbent, in order that’s what I’m using most days, besides hillier days like this one the place I take my Sirrus (upright street bike).
